Believe, Achieve, Succeed
A Message From Our Chair of Governors
I am pleased to be the Chair of Governors at Stalyhill Junior School and pleased to have an excellent team of Governors, who give freely of their time to support me in that role. The Governing Body continues to work with Mrs Kitchen and her staff to monitor the school’s work closely and provide clear direction.
We are fully committed to ensuring the school retains its very good reputation in terms of educational attainment and equipping our pupils for their progression to High School.
In December 2019 OFSTED judged our school “a good school.”
As Chair of Governors I was particularly pleased to read the following comments from the Inspection Report about the delivery of the curriculum within school:
“Pupils achieve well, particularly in science, music, reading and mathematics. This is because staff have high expectations of all pupils. They make sure that the curriculum meets the needs of pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). Leaders ensure that disadvantaged pupils have an equal chance to join in with all the activities that are offered at the school.”
“Leaders make sure that pupils follow the full range of national curriculum subjects. Leaders and staff have created well-designed curriculums in science, music, reading, writing and mathematics. In these subjects, pupils build well on their earlier learning. Pupils, including disadvantaged pupils and those with SEND, achieve well in these subjects.”
