School Meal Information

Information

Our lunchtime takes place from 12.00 – 1.00pm. There are muliple sittings so that we can accommodate all the children in the hall during this time and allow them to have a playtime too. During this time our very experienced Midday Assistants supervise the children in the hall and on the playground.

Our school meals are provided by a contracted Catering Service who work hard to provide nutritionally balanced meals for the children. Menus provide a wide range of choices, including hot and cold options, and a salad bar is also available. We regard lunchtimes as an opportunity to develop social skills, when children learn how to use good manners, make healthy choices and to eat in a social environment. If you wish to change from school meals to packed lunches a minimum of 1 months notice is required in writing.

A small number of children bring packed lunches to school. If you wish your child to do so please send the lunch and a drink in a small bag with your child’s name and class clearly marked. Children who have packed lunches are seated in the hall with children who have school meals. If you wish to change from packed lunches to school meals a minimum of 1 week term time notice is required in writing.

Parents/Carers - Free School Meals

Registering for free meals could raise an extra £1,500approx per pupil for our school, to fund valuable support like extra tuition, additional teaching staff or extra curricular activities.

This additional money is available from central government for every child whose parent is receiving qualifying welfare benefits. It is therefore important to sign up for free school meals, so that our school receives as much funding as possible.

If you would like to request an application form, or require further information, please see Mrs Clark in the office for a confidential chat.

To enquire about your child's eligibility for free school meals please visit http://www.cloudforedu.org.uk/ofsm/sims-tameside

School dinners are currently £3.08 a day (£15.40 per week).

School must be paid in advance of your child taking them.

Payment should be made using the Parentmail +pay app.

If your child has any special dietary requirements please inform the school office.
