Bereavement during the Coronavirus pandemic will sadly affect many families around the world including families from our school community. We would like to offer our support at this time. If your family suffers a bereavement you can contact the school bereavement lead (Angela Stewart-Milne) either through the school office or by email (email@example.com). The school bereavement lead has attended training specifically about how to support families and colleagues at this difficult time. The loss of someone we love is always a difficult time to face and in the current situation this is compounded by the lack of routine and normality. We know that often children manage grief differently to the way that adults do and this can also be challenging. If you choose to contact us about a bereavement, the school bereavement lead will listen to your individual circumstances and create a personal plan of support which may involve other adults in school who know your child/ren well. This may simply be a letter to your child/ren from an adult in school who knows them well or it could be regular check-ins over the telephone between your child and an adult in school who knows them well. We are also able to signpost you to resources that may benefit you and your child/ren. We will support you and your child/ren in any way that we are able.
The School Nurses now have a Facebook page which will bring the latest advice and support to parents and give them easy access to our contact details.
